Had it actually been sold for £14,500 when it was supposed to be being sold, it would have only cost me £2300 to square it away, which might have been achievable even two months ago

Fixed.

On a positive note, talking to the accountant earlier, it looks like I might be able to include some if not all of the £8600 against my accounts... Every cloud...

I've had my fair share of money worries in the past usually because I don't like the tax man.

Joking aside, in the interest of transparency, I have sent both pictures in an email to the dealer along with a bit more detail for the history of the car and some work that I had done to it outside of Mercedes and wishing him well with the sale... I received a succinct but polite reply back almost immediately and no it didn't contain the words 'Opps off'
