I completely agree, but within the restrictions they are confined to, the drivers produced a really good race yesterday. :y

They certainly did, best race of the year by far :y :y

Yet again Vettel shows he cannot do wheel to wheel racing, he is now 100 points behind Hamilton

Ferrari must surely be asking themselves if it is worth the millions they are paying him to keep underperforming.
They could get Lando Norris or George Russell for a fraction of what Vettel costs them.
Leclerc has now settled into the team, so they could take a chance on a new young talent.

Yeah I did  :o

Commentators response was brilliant though:

V: 'What was he doing'
C: 'Slowing down for a corner'

 ;D ;D

It's always someone else's fault with Vettel.

Meanwhile...………………..its just been announced that they are going to bring back ground effect in 2021 to solve the current problems of F1 racing.
Cant for the life of me see how that's going to help, but we hall see.  ???

Did you see the Lotus 79 on Top Gear.? That was the first ground effects F1 car and romped away from the opposition.

Maybe ground effects will make the car more driveable in the wake of the car you are trying to get past.  Maybe it will just be the same as now. Faster perhaps but still not able to overtake.

Imo that was the point where it all started to go wrong. Aero took precedence over everything else after that.

Quite. The aero efficiency needs to be reduced, so proper racing can happen.  All ground effects will do is allow the car behind to get in the 1s false overtaking threshold.

Jean Todt wants to reintroduce refuelling to improve the racing ! It would improve the chances of strategists winning races rather than the fastest drivers / cars, but maybe he thinks it will give Ferrari a better chance of winning again ?  :-\
Personally I would see it as several steps away from real racing and further into Walt Disney territory.  ::)

Short memories too on the dangers in refuelling. Maybe that and the spectacle of something happening ( as in a break in normal procession) is behind it.

Why don't they ask the drivers ?

Because the most vocal are a bunch of namby wimps, not real racers.

Hamilton has asked to be included in the talks.  :y
Whether or not they listen to him is another matter.  ::)

What bracket would you put Jackie Stewart in then?
