My omega has developed a new problem.
It pulls to the left and pulls to the right.

I'm constantly having to battle steering left when it's pulling right and suddenly it pulls to the left and i have to steer to the right to balance it out..

Is this a common issue or do i have a broken ball joint or what?


They tire shop said that the inner side of the tyre is worn so the alligment is off.
Could this be an alligment issue or is there something worse underneath?

Check front wishbone bushes, wishbone balljoint, track rod ends and steering idler.

If all OK, get alignment done (full geo, as your camber is out).


Be aware that some tyres are particularly prone to tramlining on the Omega...

The tyres are low profile and very wide. If you can't afford changing the wheels and tyres then is there a fix to tramlining or do i have to just deal with it?
My omega eats small amounts of oil and after long drives when i stop it, coolant vapor under the hood on the passanger side.. I put some stopleak and it helped for a week and the problem reoccured. No leaks under the car but the vaporization happens when the engine is nice and hot..

Also i noticed that the heat goes over middle line on the coolant gauge. I feel like the radiator fans never kick in. What's going on?
If i have to stop in micky dee's and wait in a line, i have to shut off the car cause otherwise it will overheat. Is there a way to check the cooling fans?

Pull off the case wire then the fans all should run full speed if  not then maybe the fuse or relays are bad

There is a test socket in the relay box for fans. Look in our guides area for details

Nope, the fans are not connected to either the ECU CTS or the dash gauge CTS on an Omega....

Front wishbone rear bushes will be the most likely cause of the handling issues.

Have the bushes checked detaily -> they can look OK even where they are knackered.

Badly worn inner tyre edges can cause strange steering behaviour. Son Jonny complained his Omega would not steer, brought it home and I pointed out front n/s inner edge worn to the wire. New tyres cured it.If OP's fault has developed without other symptons (knocks, squeals) tyres may cure it. Swop tyres front to back and find out.

Omega front suspension design puzzles me. The lower wishbone should be controlled by 2 horizontal pivots, both could be metal bearings, nylon or rubber. Control is by Mcpherson strut and steering arm. But Omega rear bush is vertical; control is by Mcpherson strut and steering arm. I struggle to imagine the way the wheel moves on suspension deflection.

This will be a factor.

I'm taking it to a tire shop (They do alligments and replace broken parts but they're mostly working anything tires and suspension)
I had them change the oil while they're at it cause why not.

One thing i forgot to mention was the damn fan problem..
Anyone got pictures where fan fuse would be?
I lost my repair manual pdf's...

It could be either:
-Broken fan motor
-Broken fan temperature sensor
-Bad wiring
-Bad fuse

Gonna test the fuse first..
Weird that no check engine light or codes popped up when the fans stopped working..

So i got the verdict.

Driver side wheel bearing is shot.
Track rod ball joints bad.
Stabilizer bar bad.
Driver side ball joint bad.
Passanger side shock absorber is shot.


Total cost of parts + labour = 1100€









Ford 17M super

Verdict:
Radiator 20 leaks.
Radiator cap spliced half
Water pump bearing shot.

Cost of parts and labour: 70€
