So here's a thought, how much Import Tax on the Oxford Vaccination are we going to charge our EU Members when we leave with Brexit at the end of December ? :y
Or we just going to give it away like everything we've invented over the years, I mean why change the habit of a lifetime. ::)

A holiday in Oxford? No thanks.

Huh, bloody Android Spell checker ::)

A technically minded young fella such as yourself should know about such things ;D

I read somewhere the vaccine that has to be kept at -70C is about £15 a dose and the other one about £28. Cannot see any reason why the Oxford one wouldn’t also be sold at a similar price.
-
I think that the Oxford vaccine doesn;t require such stringent storage. :-\

Huh?
The UK sets import duties and taxes on stuff imported to the UK, which ultimately UK consumers end up paying.
The EU sets import duties and taxes on stuff imported to the EU, which ultimately EU consumers end up paying.
The UK won't be setting import taxes into the EU any more than the EU sets import taxes into the UK (post BREXIT).
And finally, the IP involved in the vaccine will be owned by either Oxford University or Astra/Zenica (or some combination of the two), so what makes you think HMG have any say on who gets the vaccine, and how much they have to pay for it?
-
Oxford vaccine is said to be cheaper than either the Pfizer or Moderna ones,it's also said to be easier to transport/store than either of those too.

At risk of being rude... Haven't we already paid for it... ::)

Who is 'we', and what have 'we' paid for?
As far as I can see HMG have paid for 100M doses (or something). HMG do not have any ownership of the Intelectual Property.

Which will make its use and transport considerably easier. And therefore cheaper to implement, as it's no different to any other common vaccine - like flu vaccine. Each dose is much cheaper than the others.
Those are all excellent reasons to adopt it.
I have reservations about long term side effects, especially as the studies have been pushed through much quicker than is normal. Those reservations aren't enough to persuade me not to accept it
-
It reportedly requires two doses to reach 90% effectivity.
Personally I would prefer to pay slightly more, once, for a higher protection rate. :-\

I believe all of the vaccines tested were based on 2 doses.

2 tracking nano chips :-\
have they been developed by the same ijjuts who set up UK's "track and trace" system :P

They'll get bored tracking me to the park and Asda.

And PROOVE you've not been out on the rob :)
(apart from mugging people in the park, shoplifting in asda etc )

I have a tag for that.

There are medical reasons for having to do it in 2 stages. If you give 2 big a dose the first time, the body fights the vaccines and it's not effective. So you give a small dose initially, the body learns to accept it, and they you can give a second larger dose.

Oh goody, we’re going to be injected with monkey s**t.
The Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccine is made from a cold-causing ‘adenovirus’ that was isolated from the stool of chimpanzees and modified so that it no longer replicates in cells. :-X
-
What's the worst that can happen when you start modifying wild animal DNA in a lab and set it free to the populous :-\
oh wait :-[
-
Better start panic buying bananas.
-
Won't need a car, we'll be able to swing through the trees.

Presumably because the 'bugs' are suited to primates and there won't kill us, and it's possible that it's a byproduct of that chimpanzees' chemistry so wasn't readily found elsewhere.
Either way, the notion that we're all going to be injected with 'monkey poo' is ridiculous scaremongering at best. ???

About the same level of scaremongering as your insistence that the US elections were rigged aginst Trump ??? :)
-
Slightly obsessive perhaps, but not scaremongering by any stretch.
There are however people stupid enough to not have the vaccine because they believe it is actually made of monkey poo.
-
.................or they will believe that it is all part of a conspiracy to control the masses ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Some are that stupid after all! ::) ::) ;)
-
Mock away if it helps.
-
We haven't reached that level yet.

The reason I will think long and hard before having it is simply that I dont really do medicines. Have got this far without them, so it wont be easy to change the habits of a lifetime.
Swmbo will have little choice but to have it, so I might see how she gets on with it for a while and then decide.

You're not a Jehovas Witness are you, Albs? ;D

Nah, dont think he would have me. ::) ;D
