General Discussion Area / Byron Westlake
« on: 30 December 2021, 18:41:19 »
I'm sure a lot of you will remember Byron, don't think he has been very active of late on this site.
Sadly Byron passed away this morning, it was announced on a bus site he was involved in.
I have yet to find out what happened but send sincere condolences to his wife Pam.

General Car Chat / M32 Gearbox Repair
« on: 28 July 2020, 23:52:21 »
I have a 2007 2.2 Zafira B with the infamous M32 Gearbox.
Gears 1,2,5 and 6 all seem okay but gears 3 and 4 are noisy.
I believe it is usually 5 and 6 that cause trouble.
Anyone repair these or know someone reliable who will repair it?
I'm located in Birmingham but would travel.....

In all, some 480,000 Allied forces took part in the Gallipoli Campaign, at a cost of more than 250,000 casualties, including some 46,000 dead. On the Turkish side, the campaign also cost an estimated 250,000 casualties, with 65,000 killed

What a waste

General Discussion Area / A38 Tunnels in Birmingham
« on: 20 July 2014, 09:08:58 »
Just as a note of advice if anyone is coming to or travelling through Birmingham City Centre in the next six weeks...... :( :(

You may remember last summer the wonderful company Amey, who seems to run three quarters of Birmingham closed the A38 tunnels, which is the main through route in Birmingham City Centre for essential maintenance.....
They have done the same this year and at 10pm on the 18th july the road closures came into effect until the beginning of September....

If you do come into Birmingham City Centre, be very careful where you go because there are some dubious 'Bus Only' lanes where the cameras fine the cars for entering!

Apart from this Birmingham welcomes all visitors :y

General Discussion Area / Posts written this year
« on: 26 December 2012, 10:20:51 »
I have been casting my mind back - doesn't take long - about some of the posts this year.

You have the regulars - bus nostalgia - which tyres - tracking - wishbones
Fun ones - Christmas party - Bonfire Night - Follow on messages from different meets
Inspirational ones - Chris's one about his sister
Sad ones - Death in the family - car written off - cam belt snapped

What post come to your mind that are worth looking up or perhaps just forgetting.....

General Car Chat / New car
« on: 29 November 2012, 10:41:26 »
Well unfortunately time has come to lose the Omega.
I have had it almost 4 very happy years but the cost of running it has got to be realistically looked at. If finances were ok I would love to keep it.
I have just collected an 02 Vectra 2.0DTi, not as comfortable as the Miggie but not bad but it did 50mpg on the way home and I could soon get used to that plus cheaper insurance and cheaper tax.
I thought I would post a couple of pictures up - it is still a Vauxhall so I hope I can still come to the meets occasionally especially Newent!!

Cars for Sale & wanted / For Sale 1998 Tourer Estate Champagne(Gold)
« on: 29 November 2012, 10:08:23 »
Unfortunately the financial status of my bank account forces me to sell my tourer.
It is not mint in any way but has been very good to us.
The cam belt is due next July (4years not mileage)
It has working leather electric heated seats in the front and working heated seats in the rear.
It has rust on the O/S rear wheel arch.
It is taxed until the end of January and Mot'd 12/8/13
It does have an oil leak on the cam covers (you know why!)
It has a tow bar fitted.
Last MOT:-
It needs n/s outer track rod end replaced(advised in MOT)
it was advised on crap on o/s headlight - cleaned
it was advised on read anti-roll bar link bracket being bent - did this changing rear springs - straightened bracket - bush ok
It was advised on tread down to limit on o/s/r tyre - to be honest all tyres are poor!
Front anti-roll bar link rod worn - replaced

The car is no minter but its not bad for the year and has never let us down.
I'm sorry but there will be some dog hairs in the boot but I will clean it as well as I can.
It had alloys on (soft star or something like that) and I buckled one slightly on the bloody speed ramps so it has another set of rims (from Daz) to go with it. (It has a mixture of rims on at the moment which Marie noticed at Newent).

I am realistic what it's worth - not a lot!
I would like about £300 ono. Please do PM me if you are genuinely interested. I do live in the real world and need the car moving otherwise it will end up in the scrap yard.....

Better photo's to follow but here are a couple of old ones to give you an idea...
