Omega 3.2i V6 Elite Auto Colour Satnav 4 new tyres
« on: 31 January 2010, 12:06:21 »

not a cop one, just sourced it through the trade.
top of the range, with most extras incl colour satnav.
High miles 170, but drives like brand new. any trial welcomed. has full history but the owner lost the book, so assume there is none with it, so to be sure have put on a New cambelt yesterday and service. its up for £2995.  no offers.
but oofers can make a close offer if its staying within the club.
Just put 4 new tyres on it costing me almost £400
could benefit with wheels repainted but very minor minor markings. infact for the asking price i will have them fully refurbed if sold on oof.

Wow, £3000 for a 9 yr old elite with no service history and knackered wheels.......?

Wanna buy mine at £2000 with FSH, A1 all round and perfect alloys and make an easy grand.......??

agree with the above, 3k for a 170k Elite, with no service history!?

Its not even worth one third of what your asking.

I like it, but not the price.
I seen a nice 03 plate CDX and was a lot nicer than that but about the same money.
Looks like none of them will be mine.

its his car, he can ask what he wants. i would imagine that is retail price for an average miles example without the extras so add the sat nav etc etc and its not far off. would want a warrentee and new mot and 6 months tax at that price though i think

i just bought a 01 y reg 2.6 cd in mint condition with 82k with FSH & a 00 w reg 2.5 cdx in ok condition with 114k and paid £1800 for the pair. (w reg will be sold when its recieved some tlc)

in comparison i recently sold a 04 plate vectra estate with 126k and no service history f0r 3 grand odd...

the fact it has no service history nd high miles would suggest to me that it has been part of a fleet or a company car which would mean it has been looked after and serviced as it should have been. same as my old 04 vectra.

What we think, and what the market will take, are 2 different things totally.

I'll bet that he's far more aware of the market than any of us .. it is his business after all !!!

as a matter of interest

Looks to me like he's in the right ball park as of the 13 found, none quite match what he's offering .. but interpolation makes it a "reasonable" ask, given the rarity of 3.2 anyway... :)

If it's worth it, someone will pay it ...  if it's not they won't .. simple  ..

supply and demand  IMHO
  :)

Spot on!  :y

As omega-orkney says, it's his car, and it seems to be priced about right for the open-market  :)

We have been here before....

What someone asks for their car and what they get for it is their business and that of the purchaser.  Whether a potential purchaser cares to actually view the car and reassess what their budget is or not, is again, their prerogative.

To all, by all means make observations and comparisons but ultimately, its a for sale thread not somewhere to simply diss the seller such that they decide to remove themselves from the forum......   :y

I bought my omega on the strength of this forum as owners on here seem to know the car inside and out. I have to say there seemed to be a realistic acceptance of what the cars are worth. If someone is actively trying to retail cars on this forum then they ought to be thick skinned enough to justify their price tag against criticism.

I don't disagree in principle.

For a seller to advertise an omega on here it is, literally, like trying to sell snow to Alaska or sand to the middle east.

That said, my post was intended to ensure that we have constructive comments and not degenerate into what happened previously - perhaps before you and some others were actively posting here.  :)

Thanks for the collective understanding.  :y
