Would either of you happen to know how much he would pay for a '98 V6 estate.....got a plan regarding a new replacement car in the area. My metallic green estate scrapped & then buy another very local to the scrappy  ::)

A great "old fashioned" scrapyard where you can wander around at your leisure and the cars are not sat on top of each other and there is plenty of room between each car.

Be wary that he has quite a hefty through put of cars hence the cars don't last long (say 2-3 weeks) before being crushed.

When I last had a talk with Harry (about 6 months ago) about buying a complete car he told me that all his cars are for dismantling only and he could not (or would not) sell a complete car.

Still worth talking to him about the possibility of a complete purchase. He might of changed his mind?

I believe, but could be wrong, that under the latest legislation it is illegal for a scrapped vehicle to be re-sold. The V5 is completed as "transferred to vehicle dismantler" or something similar, thus the car no longer exists officially.

Yep, I remember Harry saying something along those lines. Shame, as some of the cars I have seen in there are in better condition than the ones I own. ;)

I removed a great deal of parts from a Honda Civic recently to keep my wife's motor going. It was a great car and I felt guilty gutting it.

yes Harry has alway been like that, mint condition Cosworth scorpio (frog eye) in there and sad to know it would be torn to bits, but as said its great to wander.  All he needs is a coffee stall

With all this talk of Harry Bucklands and Omegas I just had to go and have a rummage today (Monday) in the rain. ;)

Could not find the MV6 that an earlier contrbutor said was in but there are plenty of Omega's. I think there was 5 pre-facelift saloons (diesel, V6 and 4 pot), 2 pre-facelift estates and a facelift estate). All are well picked over.

Wonderfull.  :y
