After problems with Edge I went to Internet Explorer, now my son tells me this is not a good idea and I should download[from a link he's sent me] a new version of Edge is this a good move? Is this new Edge best?

My last update which binned OOF smilies must have been old Edge ? Im wondering why I haven't had an update of the new version.
Looks like I will have to find it and install it then.

Microsoft often leaves me pondering how they come up with their names  :-\

Edge Case
Quote
An edge case is a problem or situation that occurs only at an extreme (maximum or minimum) operating parameter. For example, a stereo speaker might noticeably distort audio when played at maximum volume, even in the absence of any other extreme setting or condition

Its not (yet) automatically deployed. That would cause uproar, many because its Microsoft, who must somehow be evil.

The cynic in me does say MS broke the old one to force the issue though ;D

Other browsers available, but like the New Edge and Firefox, transmit far too much shite back to their respective companies.  Hence I mostly stick with Internet Exploder, and accept some sites dont work.
