Title: Two button fob
Post by: razzo on 31 August 2018, 22:22:22
We have a 2 button fob & separate key but buttons on fob no longer open the car, have to open with the key & sync them every time. Replaced battery in fob & lights flash & battery on car is only 5 months old

Any ideas?

Open fob carefully, and inspect where the batt holder's electrical contact meets the PCB.  I suspect one has broken.

Best repair, as I cant find a suitable replacement batt holder that fits, is to remove batt holder, extend the broken leg using a bit of wire off a resistor, then solder back in place. I also hot glue it down before soldering to help take mechanical stress off it.
