MV6 Bumper retro fitted onto my Elite.
« on: 07 October 2010, 20:21:43 »

I have always liked the look of the pro-drive MV6 facelift bumper and have wanted one for my car for ages, recently one came up in the for sale section but in silver, I bought it anyway as they are few and far between and had it sprayed professionally to match my car.   I thought I would post up the pics so anyone thinking of making the same change can get an idea of the difference :)

Darren

Car with standard bumper.

The new Bumper.

The 2 bumpers side by side.

And the bumper fitted to the car.

I like the style of the bumper but im personally not sure about the mesh effect and wether it goes with the Irmscher grill .
Still a lovely looking car there though  :y :y

Looks great  :y

Incidently, where is the towing eye cover? I think there are two versions of this bumper.....

I have the same plan for my V6 Elite, the bumper is waiting to be sprayed at the moment and resides in the loft!  :y

Maybe Santa will get it done for Christmas for me  ;D

I know what you mean - I was unsure at first but it has grown on me over the past couple of days - plus absolutely no one has noticed, even after I have pointed it out  ;D

For me it would look superb if you could get the same type of mesh as the grill .
Its still better than the standard bumper though  :y :y

Well funny you should mention that......  when I bought the bumper it was promised that the towing eye cover would follow but it got lost in the post.  So after fruitless searching on ebay and even contacting Pro-drive I resigned myself to the fact they are even rarer than the bumpers! So I had the bodyshop cover the hole, then make the other side match, I like the fact that it is even smoother looking.

Now there's an idea  ;)  its only held in by a few screws so I may see if I can find some matching rectangular mesh.... :y

It does look good filled and smoothed over  8-)

I've seen some pre-production MV6 facelift photos that don't have the towing eye cover, If I was at home i'd dig it out and post it up!

Cheers - and yes I like it, was the pic a gold coloured Omega per chance?  I saw it on google images and preferred that look so copied it.

looks v good, got to agree bout the mesh tho, even if it was painted satin black it would be better (the mesh that is) also did you forget to fit the rubber spliter to the bottom of it? or are they not meant to have one, needs something to make it look lower, impressed all the same. shame they dont fit the mini facelift.

agree with vauxfan re the satin black paint, i wondered about the fogs tho? are the mv6 foglamps a different shape to the elite ones? the fogs in your pics are square like the elite holes for them but the mv6 holes are rounded?  :-? good work though, makes quite a difference  :y
