Hopefully ive done this right and my pics will show up
Regarding my post yesterday about a previous botched paint job before i owned the car, ive re-done the rear 1/4 myself in the front garden ! what do you think?

Well to my untrained eye, it looks quite good Bestie, although I would have thought removing the rear bumper would have made life a lot easier & made for a better job? I wish I had the stamina & knowhow to do a job half as good  :y

I seriously thought about removing the bumper but as i need the car 1st thing in the morn i didnt want to run out of time to refit the bumper tonight before i ran out of daylight, would have been easier i think as it took a while to mask everywhere up right and thankfully that paid off as ive no overspray anywhere :y good flat down and buff up and i rekon jobs a good un.

Cheers but iam not brave, just a tight ass ;D didnt fancy the £150 quote to have it sorted and ive done loads of spraying before, bumper scuffs ect but 1st time ive done a full panel like that.
quite chuffed with it though :y

ok..

here is what I see..

color match ok..

laquer spreading not adequate but thats normal as you cant give heat..can be solved though.. wait some months for it to be hardened completely (at least june) than sanding with 2000 grid to flat the surface and clean the orange peel pattern..(be careful not to erode laquer much- I estimate you at least applied 2-3 layers)

the only problem I see was the tire arch was not sanded properly after treatment..

so briefly ok :y

will be flatted back and buffed up at a later date unfortunatly the arch had been previously repaired and the main rust was right on the line not having facilitys to cut away the crap i had to do my best with it iam afraid, it was already miss shapen from the previous repair/sprayjob

Seeing that excellent job achieved outside gives me hope that I can do the scuff on my front bumper... Just waiting now for some dry warmer weather   :-/

Looks great, cant tell how well the color matched but from the pictures it looks good.

I can spot some orange peel effect which leads me to think your gun wasnt shooting very good, possibly air pressure issue.

Anyways I hope you got enough on there to be able to sand it down and buff it.

ive flatted it all back and buffed it up and it its come out lovly and smooth and shiny , well chuffed with it its actually smoother than the rest of the car as its in need of a good polish.
I didnt use a spray gun , all done with rattle cans :y
