Anyone on here a bodger or woodturner?
« on: 22 April 2009, 17:12:15 »

Not car bodger but wood badger! Every year I spend most of April sawing and stacking logs for fuel for a couple of winters time. Some are decent diameter olive wood from trees over a hundred years old.

Seems a shame just to burn it.  Where do you get your "chunks" of wood from for turning?

I've done a bit of wood turning, trouble is getting nice pieces of wood. There are a couple of places you can buy from, but it can be expensive. If you have a supply near to hand, you should get yourself a wood lathe, you can make some really nice pieces, and if the wood is good you are limited only by your imagination  :y

There are lots of books available from Amazon etc.
