If memory serves it has the same wheezy 1.8 litre engine than went into the woeful 1.8TC Marina.
Wash your mouth out with soap and water M'lud!
The Morris Marina 1800TC was a fine motor car, especially in coupe guise! .
Yes......a Marina coupe was a sure way to loosen the knicker elastic of a scrumpy intoxicated 'darzett' farm girl back in the day.
Having been upside down in a Marina Coupe, as a passenger and therefore the only witness in the coroners court to my mate loosing control and hitting the back of a pedestrian from behind before we ended up in a ditch upside down, I can only paraphrase the Police expert witness, who said that despite this beige 1275 coupe automatic being exceptionally well maintained, this type of car has a deserved reputation to being tail happy, and my mate would have struggled to control it on a patch of damp road, with changing road camber, with or without oil or mud. Had my mate not tried to control it, we would more likely gone backwards over the central reservation, but the Aramco would have stopped us hitting on coming traffic.
Summary - All British Leyland cars have a reputation that they deserve.
