Our winter biffabout car is a 2006 Tigra. Twintop. 1.4. 16 valve (golly!). It's ridiculous. Especially on lowering springs (ride is as comfortable as being stabbed). And purple alloys (because I am nine years old).
Anyhow. It's been parked up for a few months, upon returning to the road, with fresh battery and service... the boot and roof have gone on strike. It usually beeps to say "I'm opening" or "I'm closing" or "move your fat head out of the way". But there's nothing, no beep, no movement. Fuses have been checked and are fine. Boot opens manually and closes again... before I start removing random switches and fiddling, any ideas? Google points mainly to cars that are still beeping but not moving.

I think we need a photo of this fine motor car before any advice can be dispensed. :)

Most such cars have a cargo net type of thing in the boot which has to be extended for the roof to retract[to stop you trying to lower the roof while the boot is full of stuff]could it be that the microswitch[es] on this cover have failed? Not sure if you'd still get the beeping or not if that was the case.
