She was using her laptop last night, and suddenly loads of magic smoke started escaping.
*Sigh*, I expect she'll be wanting a new one now. For now, she's using the MacBook, but better not let her use if for too long as she finds it (rightly) frustrating, and I will be needing a dustpan and brush.

That's what it's for, if you can afford it. I gave up arguing years ago about 'need' and 'want', you can't win. It also gives me carte blanche for the rest of the year. I get nowt for Christmas and birthdays so, if I want/need something mid year, I buy it.

Yes can't say I'm bothered what she spends really & like you say "carte blanche" for me do the same you can't take it with you & got no desire to be the richest man in the cemetery.

I have just used my limited wealth to buy a new 2019 7th Generation 128GB iPad today, which after set up I am now using. 8)
I am so pleased I have, as it beats my old 16GB iPad Air hands down with speed that has almost amazed me. :D :D
So, if you can, get a new up to date electronic gizzmo when the old is past its sell by date :D ;)

I am so pleased I have, as it beats my old 16GB iPad Air hands down with speed that has almost amazed me. :D :D
So, if you can, get a new up to date electronic gizzmo when the old is past its sell by date :D ;)
And whats wrong with my circa 2007 laptop that I'm typing this on? Its clearly better than Mrs TB's much, much newer laptop that let all the pixie smoke out.

It came with Vista, but that came off the second Windows 7 was launched. Obviously now its on Windows 10, 1909.
