I believe that all vehicles used on the public highway must be registered on the insurance database with the only exception being motor trade use of customers vehicles

But because, IMO, the general OOF membership profile has changed so much :o It's amazing how many perfect people there are on here  ..........  It makes me wonder if I should be spending as much of my time here any more :-/ .....

Thaks for summing up exactly what I was thinking last night as I read some of the quotes here about being weak etc
I can't imagine what her family is feeling like this morning.  :'(

I haven't been here as long as both of you but I agree with what you are saying :(

Cheers for all the suggestions guys!  :y

I'm waiting to hear back for a couple of the trade insurers, but in the mean time I've had a quote off Aviva..

Admiral multicar... £1139  :o  Aviva (with slightly better cover)... £747!!  8-) ;D :y

None of the comparison site could come close, and neither could Admiral when I phoned them back!

It's taken most of the day and I suspect I'll have to do all this again next year, but 400 quid is some saving!!

Pub tonight I think!!  8-) :y

Good result :y

What kind of money is your trader policy costing a year? What do you have to do to qualify for one? Which companies offer it?  :-/

being in the motor trade would be a start :D ;D,quite a few companies do trade insurance but price can vary enormously, mine is around £1150 fully comp for me and SWMBO and covers all the cars we own and of course everything that we drive

I assumed that would be the case, but I've always bought/sold and worked on cars on a part-time basis. I'm just wondering whether that would be enough to qualify for trade insurance, or what I would have to do to qualify?

If I'm being rediculous, just tell me!  :D :y

You can be a part time trader ;) ;)

I'm looking at a few options myself, one being some form of motor trading again... Probably a bit of breaking, LPG conversions and general servicing :-/ A lot depends on whether I can get redeployment at work ;)

I think a few of the trade ins companies offer this nowadays but probably with certain conditions :y

something like this perhaps    http://www.tradeplaninsurance.co.uk/

I'll take one of those 9L V16 engines, though, please.

He can drive though, that time of his will take some beating :y

Shiny Izal? Do they still make it? People used to use it in toilets. Don't know what its real original use was.

That stuff had two different sides, one side was rough and was like wiping your arse with a house brick and the smooth side just spread it all up your back! :o The only two things it was good for was tracing paper and wrapping it round a comb to make a cazoo type musical instument.
Back on the subject of happy shopper bog roll for health and safety reasons you have to use about twenty sheets folded over to prevent "break through" so it's false economy  :-?

PMSL ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
