........ Same with the radio >:(
The radio does. Just press the power button and it'll stay on for an hour.  :)

Not with an aftermarket stereo >:(
Just what I was thinking. :y

I modified the power feed to the radio in my senny with a pushbutton to supply power from the always on battery feed to the switched power feed so I could use the radio when parked. Had to fit a double pole switch to break the switched feed, if you didn't do this the battery feed back fed power and the dash lights came on :o

Anyone know an EASY way to get the ciggy sockets, or at least the rear one, to be permanently on.  Or is there another 12v feed free and kicking about I could steal.  No great current demand, no flat battery concerns (yet!).

I find that annoying as well, they could at least power up with the key in the position before the ignition is fully on. Same with the radio >:(

all I know is that every car Ive had with remote alarm flashes when arming/locking. Why on earth would this be illegal??

Its a case of cutting one of the connections to the MID......will check which pin/wire colour.

Have you found out which wire it is yet?
I was going to disconnect mine at the mid end, just not sure which one it is.

I would just fit a self tinting mirror (brilliant things!) and move it by hand as you would a normal mirror. :)

Drove mine the dark for the first time yesterday and saw the self dimming mirror in action. Brilliant feature just found it a bit odd trying to get used to it.

Definitely worth the trouble of fitting.

Earlier one with orange and black connector (although interestingly its from a 98 car and has a seperate check indicator)

Judging from the above you will need to spend 5 mins checking what connector(s) you have.....

Yep this the one I have, and I need a replacement :'(

Early ones have two connectors, yellow and black, later ones have one, grey connector.

As a general rule, the later one has a seperate check indicator where as the ealrier versions spell 'check' on the screen

Mine has the word check in  the bottom right of the screen

is there anyway of identifying which from what is displayed or does it require a look at the back of what is fitted?

Which display is likely to be fitted to my 97 Elite?  Mine displays the radio info, trip computer info and also the brake pad warnings etc. I can't check on my car at the moment so I was wondering what this unit should have electrical connector wise?

Anybody any ideas?
