Very strange noise from a Punto....
« on: 02 July 2007, 09:38:20 »

Working from home today.
Woman across the road as a W reg Punto, it goes out for many 5 minute periods a day.
She has just come home, and the car was making a loud noise, which I can only describe as the noise wipers make on a dry screen!

Any ideas?

For futher info I suspect a totally unmaintained car, the shock on her face last year when she discovered cars need mot's!

Why is it always Fiats?

I got a lift from a mate in a Fiat once and had to explain that it wasn't normal for the oil light to come on every time she went round a corner, and that, if she drove very gently to the next garage I would top up her oil level and save her a large bill for a new engine!

When you said strange noise, I thought you meant you'd actually heard the engine running!!

The noise was that worrying, I may not again!

It is not a noise I would be happy if my car made!

Waiting for her to (try and) go out again.
Slightly worryingly my car is directly behind hers!

Does this thing not have an electrically assisted steering system that uses an electric motor/wheel arrangement to help those with weaker forearms to drive round towns?  Possibly wheel squeel??
