Tend to use sensible mixture of genuine VX, pattern and used parts.

Last Saturday the tailgate struts on SWMBOs Estate suddenly failed.  Non critical item, so Sat night ordered two pattern from Ebay seller (good feedback, company address and seemed to specialise in boot/bonnet/tailgate struts) for £12 pair delivered. Arrived this am (obviously not sent out to Tues as Mon bank hol), and after investing 5 mins of my time this evening tailgate working as it should.  Struts came complete with end fittings and spring clips, and were direct replacement and of good quality.  As we will be replacing Estate soon, sure they will outlive time in our ownership.

I use ECP for about 35% of the parts I need. Recently I needed a new rear wiper motor for a 1 series, second hand on ebay was about £90, new Valeo from ECP was £68ish. However, when servicing a Supercharged L322, everything came from a LR specialist I use, the genuine parts worked out at about £15 more.
Granted, with my profession I do have cause to buy more, and for differing vehicles...but as suggested on here, ECP does have its place. I've never had a problem with them.

not sure about ecp selling fakes but they do sell new "crosland" filters and crosland ceased making filters 11 years ago. http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=28684

A little (mis)information is a dangerous thing ;D

Had to go to ECP in Totton on Saturday... Actually quite disturbing... Two of the two items I enquired after generated the response "I've never heard of that and I have been here 18 months..."

The items? Bleed screws and an Eezibleed :o Halfrods had the Eezibleed on the shelf ::)

I've used Crosland oil, air, and fuel filters.

Nothing much to report. :y

Where as I ordered a front pipe for a 1.0 Corsa C from them last week only to find they had delivered one for a 1.8 Astra......

.......and getting them to recognise the error was'interesting'

Had a hell of job getting an exhaust clamp to! (never heard of them apparently)

I use CarParts4Less now and again, as generally they're a couple of quid cheaper than ECP.  :y

When I did my head gaskets CP4L had a set of 16 Elring head bolts for about half the price of anywhere else!  :y  "What could possibly go wrong?" thought I....  ::)

When they came there were only 8 bolts, but when I phoned up to complain and pointed out that the photo showed 16 bolts, they sent out another 8 bolts without quibbling!  :y  The photo on the listing was changed soon after to show only 8 bolts!  ;D

I would concede, I never order large items for delivery. I will always go and collect, because then I can hopefully tell if it's the wrong bit!
