Sourcing V6 DBW coil packs.
« on: 23 June 2016, 11:32:50 »

What is the current thinking on the best source for these ? Istr genuine are prohibitively expensive, so some kind of aftermarket is the best option, but which one ?

Bosch?
OEM ones are made by them anyway.
IME, Bosch unit is 30-40% cheaper that GM OEM one.

Site says "domain name will be up for sale from 04/16". Looks like they may have shut up shop ?  :-\
Will try giving them a call tomorrow.

Is there any issue converting to the earlier coil pack? Fairly sure someone did this. Except for the different shaped holes in the rocker covers, I can see this being the way to go. 'Proper' HT leads will be made for the next fifty years. They can be made in a shed.  :)

Er no......you have 6 firing pulses on the coil per plug setup and 3 on the DIS setup.......so as much as you might be able to with diode ORing its not guaranteed to work and the ECU might have a hissy fit

If you read what it says in the red box at the top of the page - "domain will be up for sale....."
Site says the part I want is available for trade customers ?  ???
Sent them a message - no answer.
