Less project, but more useabe...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-240-Estate-car/372040117195?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D45730%26meid%3D2a5427b9b5d24bf4868457e048bbf7c0%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D253101141374&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1

Now that's more like a Battle Tank!  ;D
My Dad had one of those years back, but with the nasty V6 engine. Engine aside, it was totally indestructible. I remember he hit a sign post at about 20 MPH once, having slipped on an icy patch. SIgn post was bent over at 45 degrees. Couldn't find any damage on the Volvo.

Another time, he rear-ended a Mk. 3 Escrot. Said vehicle ended up somewhat "compact" from the back seat rearwards. Again, no damage found on the Volvo.

The front bumper contained what appeared to be a length of railway track supported by a shock absorber at each end.  ;D

It's telling, though, that every one of these that you see still running these days has the 4 pot engine.

Pick up!  :y

I saw one of those at Classics on the Common recently and said at the time it's the first one I've seen for at least a decade.. apparently because they're all hiding in barns ;)

Or...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vauxhall-cavalier-Modern-day-classic/122650693601?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D45730%26meid%3D2513ec5aa4a648f88f298b3dcb2cad9c%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D292214717868&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1

That brings back some unpleasant memories! The mk3 Cavalier is the worst car that my mother has owned since I started driving.

Probably the best car we ever had, it just worked (for us anyway!)

I still have a soft spot for my old Mk3 Cavalier 1.7Dti.  I wouldn't mind having another one as my second car, if the 190D gives up the ghost - which it currently looks like it might have  ::)  :)

I would like a Facelift Omega Elite, with LC running gear as my project. A sort of update on Omegatoys original concept.
Omega V8 projects are so last year.  :D
Finding the running gear would probably be the hard part, apart from the fact I don't have the space for any kind of project bigger than a Fiat 500.  ::)

If I had a Cavalier it would only ever be another diesel, to run on wvo. Fwd performance cars are pointless imo.  :P
