Same engine type and same gearbox...

Ideally

So 2.6/3.2 with same gearbox will be fine :y

Remove the aux belt completely and run the engine for absolute max of ONE minute...

And report back :y

Ignition on
Engine off
In reverse

Touch each sensor gently with a finger tip...

If you feel a faint buzz then the sensor is working.

No buzz no worky.
If all the sensors buzz, then the speaker has died.

Easy enough to rewire a door tweeter to sort.  :y

I think I've had seven over the years  ::) I must be a glutton for punishment lol.

I still rate them but you can't save them all and I'd be happy to keep the other two for a while yet as they are in good order. With the current work situation it would be sensible to have something more frugal but still maintain the effortless mile munching motorway ability that the Omega has....
I can't believe that I have owned seven as well :o

And only scrapped one :'(

Freshly serviced with no EML is usually enough to ensure an emissions pass ;)

Presenting a car with borderline tyres or a light out is unnecessary. May as well present it in a roadworthy state :y

The driver of the Bath tipper lacked the age or experience to be considered professional, and naively found himself working for a shockingly poor company.

Sad but true, although the car will thank you for it :y

Nope.

2.2 always gives a crank sensor code for the crank sensor, and a random gearbox code for the cam sensor.

2.6/3.2 always gives a cam code for cam sensor and no code for crank sensor.

Symptoms are the same regardless, except 2.2 eventually starts, but the v6 doesn't  ;) No MIL/EML as the engine technically doesn't put one on unless it affects running, which doesn't happen until it has successfully fired ;)

Obviously there are exceptions, but 99.9% as above.

Cam sensor.

Code is a random gearbox one.

As ever, a genuine sensor from a genuine Opel dealer that you genuinely have to walk in to  :y
