Well, seeing as the alarm hasn't gone off again, it appears that that Marks DTM Calib reprobate was right to get me to clout it with an educator.

He is a clever sod ;D
Still no alarm.  So hopefully thats job jobbed.

plenty of cars locally with "quick sale" notices in the widows
I`ve now added a cheap 2010 Honda Jazz to the fleet, EX model with lots of toys.
Noisy top end, so unbelievably preparing to adjust the tappets on the 1.4 lump  ::)

The fact they are noisy tells you all you need to know about the servicing   :y

They are also a bit of a pain as its an inlet manifold off job.

1) Put the sensor arm back on the rear trailing arm (for the umpteenth time) to shut up the Headlight Range warning. Must get around to a permanent fix some time.
2) Fished the gearbox breather pipe up from dangling under the car to on top of the Plenium.
3) Fitted the trim clips that I bought 5+ years ago to the high level brake light cover, and put it back where it should be.
4) Fitted the Battery blanket back to the battery.
5) Refitted the rubber accelerator pedal cover that popped off a few days ago.
6) Removed the bodge wiring to the speedo binnacle that I fitted to bypass fuse F15 whilst it was having its hissy fits.

A few more long put off jobs to do, but I'm getting very close to having to wash it. Well - get the local Polish car wash people to wash it anyway.

Refitted the sunroof panel with its newly painted trim. Then an old problem which I thought had gone away came back.
n/s/f window is down and it wont go up. Seems power to the motor is interrupted. Tried both front door switches and total closure on the key fob, but nothing.
It did this a couple of times about three years ago, but stopped doing it until today. Hope I can sort it before the weekend, as I have to drive to Naarfik to collect a Tortoise for swmbos birthday present (yes, I know  ::) ) and dont really want to do the trip in the [lastic welsh hatchback.

Check the wiring as it runs to the door.

Also try the door switch but make sure the safety switch is off first :D

as a temporary fix to use the car, use a powerprobe to close the window then leave the motor disconnected so you aren't tempted to use it again. Omega climate control is better than open windows......

Just went out to have a look and the window went up no problem. This exactly what it used to do. Leave it a while and wit works fine until next time. Presumably some kind of loose connection or wire breaking down that I will have to find at some point.
In the meantime I will leave it up. Its on swmbos side and she is in lockdown for another 5 weeks anyway, so no need to panic.

Swapped out the busted upper control arm. A nice easy job, could almost be done with the wheel on :D

Now clonk free. Wheels being done next week and windscreen the week after. Then it should be Mot time :o

If you are worried about your eyesight , take a test drive to a castle
especially before driving to "Lundum" for business
borrow a 4 y/o child if you have too ,though i don't think that part is mandatory    :y

Not me someone else.  ::)

I collected a nice scrape in the drivers door on the Mondeo today in Tesco's car park.  >:(  On the plus side the guy was honest, promised to pay for the damage and I have his (London  ::)) address and phone number.

I'll have ago at polishing it out this afternoon, but to be honest I'm tempted to put it into the bodyshop, get them to sort it and all the other dings and scratches, and send him the bill!  ::)
