Just before I lifted the bonnet to change the shredded tensioner I noticed the boot light was not working?. so I checked and found out the battery was completely dead after 4 days of sitting idle due to the fact it couldn't be driven. now the battery is about 6 months old and I drove over 200 miles on the Thursday so I would have thought there would be a good charge in said battery and the alternator obviously works otherwise it wouldn't have gone at all. bloody cars eh..

Not necessarily - my 2.6 managed about 200 miles with a dead alternator before the battery was totally flat. If your tensioner was knackered then the belt wouldn't be tight enough to spin the alternator fast enough to put any charge into the battery.

Put another battery on the V70 after step daughter managed to flatten the one already on by leaving one of the interior lights on  :-X

Had to go to a filling station and fill the 190 up with the fuel of satan, as Ive run out of chip oil and probably wont be able to get hold of any for a few weeks.  :(

Helped tow a couple of cars out of the mud on our dog walking fields , then drove home through some huge puddles to clean the Terracan off. Been raining for days now.

I gave up one of my collections as the oil contained too much fat for me to bother with, so that didn't help.
One of my other collections is normally like brand new oil, but last time  I collected there, some idiot had tipped some water in with the oil in some of the containers, so that had to be dumped. Hence the current shortage.  ;)

The Pussy is minging, inside and out, as the weather was pretty naff in Normandy. So people have dragged mud in on their shoes, and the bodywork is caked.

Now do I take it to Tesco today, or my usual MK Kosovans on Tuesday when I need to go into the office.

Oh, and I've set the clock twice on the Pussy in the last fortnight, seeing as the Jaguar designers thought it was fine not to have any kind of automatic setting.  I'm surprised they didn't go the whole hog and make it wind-up.
