Omega General Help / Clocking
« on: 04 July 2019, 10:06:00 »
Thanks to the MOT History check available for mainland cars, ive found several omega's with questionable mileage claims in their adverts.

I assume that clocking one of these is dead easy....

Is this as prolific on the mainland too?

"We got rid of the LPG because my husband didn't want a time bomb in the boot"

http://bit.ly/1fdB82g eBay

It's a shame these misconceptions are about.

Sadly I fear the extra (badly placed!!!) filler may significantly kill the value...

had a wee chortle about that too, what about the time bomb under the boot floor??? lol

If needed, how do I wire daylight driving lights to my 2001 V6 ? :o would appreciate help.
Just a point of interest, its against the law to have FOG lights on if you can see more than half a kilometre, ie no fog, yet daylight running lights are much brighter (led)?????

yes DRL's are brighter on some cars but they dont actually "throw" much light forward onto the road.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Removing the standard HU
« on: 30 December 2013, 10:47:58 »
To clear up the NCDC thing, *all* 3.2 came with NCDC2013/GID as standard, most (but not all) 3.0l came with NCDC2013/GID. All others came with CCR2006/MID.

If you want to change HU on NCDC equipped elite, rip out HU, screen, amp and speakers, and replace the lot. If you want fuel computer functions, fit a MID (may need reprogramming), and the appropriate wiper stalk. Note, you'll have to add some simple wiring for the stalk.

On CCR2006 elites, replace HU, amp and speakers. Existing MID and wiper stalk are fine.

Perfect, thanks!

Hi all hope u had a great xmas.......  Does anyone know a way of making a 3.2 auto saloon run a bit better . ?   20 mpg isnt good  :'( im thinking of getting rid as costing too much to run..

20's poor, my 3.0 would do around 28-30 daily - she was a manual elite though.

(if your selling let me know btw)

Why not? There are some good ones. Harmon kardon? Dave Dnd has one in his shop. Sounds good on Bose ;)

The plan would be to rip all the bose stuff out, its really past its best now. I have some JL and Alpine ICE upstairs from my previous car, still using the alpine head unit in the alfa atm.

compared to the alpine head unit even on standard speakers, fm modulators just don't have the quality

I thought ncd units were an optional extra, and based my comments on the standard units - in my case the 2006.
Apologies if this was misleading - having re read the op I should have realised  :-X

Er er, Chrisgixer back pedals furiously. Later Elites did. 02 to 03. ... early ones not so sure tbh. If 2006 I'd probably swap that put too tbh.

Ncdc, keep it. Nothing else will work correctly to the same level. There's other ways to connect an mp3 player.

go on....and an FM modulator is not an option

That's grand, I'll be changing the speakers etc anyway.

The other option to connect the iPod directly to the amp

Been a while, but I'm after another omega.

Specifically want a FL, preferably Elite spec.

Want to dumb the standard HU as it really is terrible by todays standards, but i have a question, if dump it what do i lose?

I remember in my old omega, i got a headlamp range warning on the dash. does that menu system still work without the hu?
