My first one did, yes :'(. Fortunately MDTM had the CANdi at the time, so I didn't lose that.
I couldn't believe my luck when my local dealer contacted me if I was interested in one they had "for spares" for a relatively small amount of pound notes, which only needed a new lead, PCMCIA linear 32Mb card and new keypad :y

Get one that does live data, which means spending about £30.
Or you can get a Bluetooth adapter and Torque for your Android device for about £20. They're a bit fiddlier to use though.

Nick can you point me in the direction of one.....i use the "you no what" for the omega stuff on a laptop and that works great once you have sorted the drivers out..is there one for the KA,(ford) that works ok

I've had mine for several years so can't make a specific recommendation. But every one I've used has been basically the same, both in operation and functionality. Which shouldn't come as a surprise, as they're only display devices for a well defined standard.
Again, the really cheap ones two-thirds ones only display fault codes and reset the EML. To do actual diagnosis, you need the live data.

I never managed to get the Bluetooth one working. I think I have the same Autel one as TB and it does the job :y
