Needed a (working) car, so wandered around to find one, brought it home to fill it back up with air, took it to train station, drove back to Brakkers, and abandoned it again.

That’s not a nice way to treat the Jaaaag!

The Black Pussy is broken, so unusable. Sadly.  Not that it fits the parking spaces in Chiltern Railways brand new multistoreys...

The purchase price could have covered a ground up restoration of the Bullet...

It was, yes.  Enough to allow the brake disc to rub on splash shield.

Fixed now though :)

Wheel bearing replaced. Not by me, suffering a case of CBA (or more worryingly, a fear that I'd get partway through and not be able to get it off).

Its now a silent ride again :).  Trouble is, now when I boot it, I can start to hear the engine again ;D

Packed it last night, and drove to Dover this morning. I'm now sitting in the restaurant of the ferry, with breakfast.

A fortnight of taking it easy, drinking beer and eating cheese is ahead. Which also means I won't have to change the rest of the Baron wing-bolts :y

Enjoy :y.  No France trips for me this year :(, but planning for a large group to go over next year, as its the 80th anniversary of the landings.

A bit late....but went up to Serek's yesterday, changed a door solenoid and replaced the bush on the steering idler with a Poly. Top job as usual and then took the opportunity of giving the old girl a thorough spanking on the way home....would have been rude not to! 8)

Good for you! I used to go abroad several times a year with my family estates and Senators, taking my parents and growing family. One year we got to Farthing Corner services for our first stop only to find no-one had strapped youngest in his child seat. After the wall came down my wife  and 2 children flew to Berlin, but I drove there - much more fun.

The cars don't get everyday use any more,so the regular 200+ mile round trip up to Serek's place is the ideal opportunity to blow the cobwebs away.....still impressed that a 17 year old car with 240k on the clock can still kick butt in today's traffic and in most cases do it with ease.....still loving my Omegas :-* :y
