Hi Guys,

After fitting a new ignition barrel last month, I've reconnected my hot start-fix. I did notice a difference while going to Stanstead Airport and back, i.e. the car had done about 10 miles per litre at 70mph with the unit disconnected. On the other hand, the car uses more fuel with the unit on, as well as more black smoke when revving it.
I've seen you guys talk about chipping the ecu's in the forum and would like to know if it will make the engine run lean while still running the hotstart fix.

Thanks :)

The hot start sould only activate the glow plugs there must be some under lying fault if you getting black smoke with the unit on.
Do a paper clip test and post the results :y

I see these OBD kits for sale on the internet, but hardly anyone seems to have a kit for a 95 Omega.
tech2 seems to only fit Omegas built from 97 onwards. Is there some sort of adaptor kit for my OBD socket?
