Can anyone confirm that these would be fine on other models, specifically v6 / Beemer TD models?

I know MV6 shocks are different, but sure all other models have the same dampers?

Good point. Have bled brakes before on other cars both with pressure feed, and the olde-worlde method of pumping the pedal, mixed result in both cases.

Has anyone any experience of fitting these without the tech 2, just using the 'bored mate slowly pumping on the pedal method'??

I asked this very question at my local vaux place, they said they have never had to use tech 2 to get the abs bled, pressure bleeding was all they did, and they have done a few.

the Mechanic guy is pretty clued up, far from daft, so cant see him telling a porkie..

Ill be keeping an eye on this one  ;)
I've had to do it a few times where people (including myself  :-[) have allowed air into the actuator whilst bleeding.

The key to ABS ECU repairs is to purely remove the electronics and coils, not the hydraulic part.

Good luck chelski, hope you manage to get the air out.

verrry interesting mr bond.... this is all adding to my knowledge. thanks boys.

I may have to be doing a similar job myself soon, so will be pleased of any further info given on this thread. Not many on this forum seem to have much experience with ABS, but hope you get all the help you require.

Best of luck chelski

ah, that explains a lot!

Hi and welcome.

All I could initially suggest is you do the 'paperclip test' which is a neat way of seeing what's stored in the car's memory, where all fault codes are logged.

You should be able to find this in the how-to section, perhaps start at the oldest and work forward, as it's a fairly common test to do.

It's not a problem I've every heard on on an omega, so happy hunting!

Wooooow!! Good choice  :)

Praise to Luton/Russelsheim for interchangable parts!

Desparate to see what the new Insignia alloys look like on an Omega. I think there's some beautiful shapes, which would compliment the curves of a meega well.

Haha! Not biased atall, no!

Carmine red, I think it was called? Classic colour. Basically the 80s version of Flame Red that EVERYTHING was in during the 90s. I thought of Imperial Green, but couldnt be bothered starting an argument about whether it is technically a Lotus colour, or some such..umm... buzzcocks!!

We could push this into another topic/thread...

Top ten Vauxhall Alloys
Top Ten Vauxhall Colours

!

My sad contribution would be Irmscher MV6 wheels and Champagne pearlescent.(Mk 1 vectra colour, would look lovely on a Senator/Omega/Calibra)

Praise indeed that you prefer the Omega. Not bad considering (and this is scary) that we're talking about a car that was designed and being tested back in 1989!
