That's good to know thanks. Henry, can you just up to north Essex when you've had your lunch please ?
I was actually given a brand new injector from a 1.5dci Renault, of unknown year, by my friendly local garage. I fitted it and the car started and ran, albeit as rough as a badges arse. It had completely different numbers to mine so I wasn't surprised.
I have now ordered one from fleabay with the same part number as mine which came from a clit, the same year as mine.
Hopefully it will just need coding in to finish the job off.

The one the garage gave you will probably do the job if coded in,the ebay jobbie will still need the code entering

Got a call from my tame paint wizard telling MrsGK that the bog lad is ready to be collected. Can't bloody wait.

I might even finish my night shift in time to go on the way home... I'm like a kid at Xmas.

Is that some kind of odd Tees language there, GK?  ;D

Nearly spun it on the M23 this morning. Hit a mahoosive puddle at a reasonable pace, the only warning of which was a wave large enough to surf on from a lorry that hadn't seen it either...  :o when I hit it, it was deep enough to hide the headlight beams and I thought I might have drowned it :'(

Still, the ESP, aka Anti Elk device, works, although it did lose the front number plate, two wheel trims and half of the damaged 'before I bought it' undertray.

All in all, not a bad result considering  ::)

That's the one ;D

Didn't look quite so impressive in the dark :-\ although that does explain the wave off the lorry... :o

South of Gatwick to answer Shackeng's question  ;)

Crikey .. try not to disappear off into the scenery, eh Al?

Friend of mine wrote his MR2 off in similar conditions between Gatwick & Heathrow on the M25 one year - it did an admirable job; with no engine up front the front end slowly disintegrated, gently* dissipating crash energy.

*I doubt it felt in any way gentle as an occupant, mind!

More a Freudian slip based on the living conditions of a lot of my customers... ;)

Now it's daylight, I wonder if they will find my number plate and wheel trims...? #asking for a friend.

I did ring them to report the plate lost in said puddle so that if found they wouldn't needlessly dredge it to look for the car.

Mine needs a wash too DG  :)

today ,in the pouring rain, removed all the alloys off one of the astra Gs ,put bald steelies on ,fitted a duff battery ,removed the aftermarket  stereo ,floor mats and rear wiper and arm, i'm soaked to the skin  ::)
gets scrapped 27th ,even though it's MOTed till mid summer

checked over it's replacement astra H ,needs a cambelt ,inner tie rods ,drop links ,service and will probably have the CD30 swapped for a 7" touchscreen radio with bucket avoidance camera fitted  ;D

Swapped the spark plugs on the Golf as a cyl 4 misfire detected.
theres other things going on too, but the plugs were due anyway so worth swapping anyway
Didnt cure the fault and neither did moving the coil packs between cylinders.

Main issue is a P2015 which looks like it needs a new Inlet Manifold.

Car very jumpy and hunting esp at idle.

Replaced sidelight bulb on the 960 and picked up some kind of ABS fault on the V70 which will obviously require investigation.
