Omega General Help / Got to go
« on: 12 September 2023, 08:26:23 »
Sadly the timing belt on my 2.6 Omega parted while doing 50/60 mph and can't afford a new lump so I'm putting it up for scrap if anyone is interested.

Omega General Help / Re: Front spots
« on: 06 September 2022, 12:26:29 »
Hi, By "Spots" I mean the two spotlights on each corner of the lower front wing, I guess you could also call them the front two fog lights.
I just know that looking at it just doesn't tell me a thing on how to take the covers off.
I need to take them off so that I can give them a real clean as they have really closed over and need more than just a rub with a wet cloth.

Regards

Graham

Omega General Help / Front spots
« on: 06 September 2022, 09:36:56 »
Can anyone tell me how to remove the front spotlight covers on a 2003 Omega 2.6 saloon, please?

Also, does anyone know where I might be able to get a passenger-side headlight for the same car as above, please?

I'm coming up for 76 and I'm not that conversant with spanners etc. so some technical help from Omega Owners would be gratefully received.

Kind regards

Omega General Help / Removal of instrument panel
« on: 27 June 2019, 08:18:57 »
Good morning all,
On 16th October 2007, an article explaining by the use of pictures, how to remove the instrument panel on an Omega was posted by Darth Loo-Knee with an accompanying video.
My problem is that for some reason my pc will not run it even though I have downloaded "Flash Player" as required.  Is there another version of this player that doesn't require "Flash Player" so that I can watch to see how it's done as I need to replace the info screen which is situated on the left of the panel.
I am not noted for my gentle patient care when removing delicate fixed items and would appreciate some help with this please if anyone knows of such a version.

Kind regards to all

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Display lights
« on: 28 May 2019, 09:05:36 »
I have an 03 CDX and the illumination for the information panel on the left of the dashboard is just about zero in the daytime.  Night time isn't too bad but during daylight hours I can't see anything at all, can anyone help me, please?

Thanks to all

Omega General Help / Central locking
« on: 24 April 2019, 07:30:12 »
I am now having major problems with my 03 CDX central locking system.  It started with just the front passenger door not locking, then not unlocking, now it's the driver's door doing the same thing.  Yesterday I couldn't even open the door using the key, I finally got it to open by having my window open and physically pulling up the button as I turned the key.  The rear passenger doors operate with no problems at all.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Regards to all

Omega General Help / Battery removal
« on: 13 December 2018, 12:08:20 »
Can someone please advise me on how to remove a battery from an O3 2.6 omega CDX?

I need to remove it so as to put the battery on charge as I have let it run down.  When I tried to remove it, I took off the negative terminal strap first as advised by the hand book which should according to the book should have stopped the Power sounder going off but that didn't work which resulted in the alarm screaming like a banshee.
I am not the most technically / mechanically minded person so I would really appreciate advice please.

Omega General Help / Re: Key programming?
« on: 02 September 2018, 06:52:53 »
Many thanks to Nick W and "TheBoy" for your help.  I will be phoning them on Monday morning, they have to be cheaper than the £149.00 that Timpsons at Hempstead Valley want.

Kind regards

Omega General Help / Key programming?
« on: 01 September 2018, 06:36:06 »
I have had to get another circuit board for my 03 2.6 key fob as the buttons on the old one were broke.  It will open the doors and the boot but will not lock.  I have tried these so called home fixes for programming the key yourself on the internet but none of them work.
I live in Gillingham Kent and just wonder if there is anyone out there that would know where to go to get it sorted.
Thanks for reading

Omega General Help / Rocker box gaskets
« on: 02 August 2018, 06:53:10 »
I have had an issue with oil leaks for a while now on my 2.6 auto 03 reg.  One of them was from around the oil pressure switch which has now been done, the other two leaks albeit only small are coming from around the rocker box gaskets.  Can these be done by someone like me who has reasonable knowledge of mechanical engineering and if so what is involved please?

Omega General Help / Center arm rest
« on: 02 August 2018, 06:46:15 »
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to repair the center armrest please?
The "release" flap at the bottom of the armrest will not "Click" to open or lock the armrest when it's dropped back down again.  I know it's only a minor thing but because it won't lock it does cause it to rattle at times which really does annoy me so if anyone knows the answer I would be very much obliged.

Omega General Help / Sun Roof
« on: 02 August 2018, 06:38:33 »
I have an 03 2.6 auto with sun roof.  The black paint on the outside trim is flaking off and beginning to look a little unsightly, can anyone suggest the type of paint I need and method to bring it back to new looking please?
