Sky news has been giving almost constant coverage of Dolores watsernames death for days on end. Culminating in the funeral today.
Their on the scene reporter felt obliged to inform us every few minutes that she had been a global superstar for the last 25 years.
I'm probably completely out of touch, but to my knowledge she sung in a band that had a couple of relatively minor hits about 25 years ago.  ???

They were huge in America, and quite rightly so. One of the few groups whose songs were great musically, and the lyrics told a story (even if personal to the singer)

Sounded pretty mediocre to me, but each to their own.

The original Tinky Winky was sacked in 1997. Just what do you have to do to get sacked from playing a furry children’s character? Hmmmmmm........ ;D

Someone having a laugh with creating kids entertainment character names again?

Seaman Stains
was a good name for a kid's character. :)
Was linked to Captain Pugwash in the nineties. Both the Evening Standard and The Guardian had to print a retraction to the creator of the characters, John Ryan.

Mark E Smith . . . . singer with The Fall. Bloody hell 60 ! I thought he was much older

Strange bloke, and to be honest he's looked half dead for many years now. However The Fall were very distinctive, I saw them a couple of times and thought they were pretty good in a strange sort of way.
