Fault Codes 0120 & 0220 TPS etc...
« on: 17 June 2015, 13:00:00 »

Right, I've got an intermittent sticky rev counter and using the pedal trick have got fault codes 0120 & 0220 relating to TPS... Have cleaned the Throttle Body & Butterflies (with plenum in-situ) and the sticking/ jumping rev counter has gone from c. 1500 rpm to c. 2500/3000 rpm. I'd say it has an intermittent slight mis-fire but most of the time it runs very sweet. I started looking into this when I wanted to change the plugs and found the 2/4/6 bank full of rain water & oil. Have now replaced cam-cover gasket, coil pack and plugs and will be fitting the scuttle back with a bit of sealant between the joins, once I've resolved the TPS fault code & rev-counter/mis-fire issue. Am just not sure how to solve the TPS fault problem... Any ideas? P.S. - it's an '02 2.6 DBW CDX...

Double check the plug on the throttle body... It's not unusual for the plug locking mechanism to fail/break off... Careful use of a cable tie will see it sorted without welding the plug to the socket...

If that doesn't solve the issue then it could be a pedal issue :-\

Thanks Harris - have already checked both and they seem fine. Have now sprayed a little Plusgas at back of Plenum and it's got better - slight sticky hesitancy on rev counter at c.4000 rpm....

have exactly the same on my 2.6 v6, have changed coil packs, alternator, battery in the last few weeks and its  still sticking from 3000 up to 5000 revs and splutters at 5000. will change coil next to see if that's the problem
