Rule of 9 ie 1 & 8   2 & 7 etc etc was when you did the tappets static You did the CIH with hydraulic 'tappets' when the engine was running. Great method of covering everything in oil!  ;) I used an old rocker cover on my Manta & 2.2 Carlton with a hole cut in the top so I could get to the adjusters.

That's good. That's going to be more like 2 tanks in a petrol V6, even my crappy Astra 1.7 TD only manages about 45mpg - no matter what you do with it.
