As of November-don't know a specific date so could be from tomorrow-the insurance premium tax will increase from its present rate of 6% to 9.5%.This is the fifth increase since its 1994 introduction and represents a rise of 58%

Pre-ex medical screening is a large sector of the travel insurance market these days, where the risks and potential treatment costs are accessed. US, Canada and Caribbean cover get very expensive, very quickly.
