Thanks Lizzie but its not the disc i should have been clearer the magazine will not stay in the holder and when it does it just says no mag loaded so to me that seems as if the unit is not recognising the 4 casette holder hope that makes sense ;D

Mine did this! . The cassette will not lock into the unit.just pops back out again.if you look into the slot there is a small peg near the back on the right hand side that locks into a corresponding slot in the cartridge.the unit thinks the cartridge is already in but cannot read any discs because there obviously arnt any!.i had to flick the peg sideways until it clicked and stayed there. All was well afterwards. Obviously dont force or bend anything but have a good look and you should see what i mean.

I've got the 'no disc loaded' message but my changer is inserted with 4 discs in it but can't be persuaded to eject. Dave DND has confirmed by email that there are no longer any spares available for NCDC2013 so they seemingly can't be repaired.

Remove the head unit, separate the two halves then dismantle the cd unit... examine it carefully and reverse operate it manually to release the cartridge. Reassemble and call it done :y

Thanks Doc G. In the words of Tommy Cooper-'Just like that!'  ::)
Seriously, you've given me a little hope and I'll give it a go to see if I can suss it.
Cheers.
