Auxillary Drive Belt
« on: 21 March 2009, 19:07:15 »

This is going to sound like a pretty bone question, but I am trying to put the auxillary drive belt back on after fixing my head gasket on my 3.0 V6 Elite and can't remember how it goes on. Does anyone have a diagram of the direction/route for the belt..... please? :-/

That's what I thought but the belt just seems too long.  :-/

Sure that picture isn't right.

The bit it is wrong is it goes from the air con to the crank before it goes to the water pump

Sure from the bottom Air Con Pump straight to the Crank Pulley, up and around the Water Pump down to the Alternator, up to the Aux belt Tensioner then straight across to the Power Steering Pump :y

Yeh, i agree.
It definately runs down from the power steering, around the air con, across to the crank, loops up around the coolant pump, back down around the alternator, and up to the tensioner.

I'll give that a try tomorrow then. Hopefully all my hard work this week will have been worth it and it will work OK!

Don't count on it mate, I can't seem to find a couple of electrical connections and am hoping that it will not effect the running of the car. Not sure what they are for or what they do.

Good question, there is one on the left hand bank, right side of the car as you look at it, at the front of the wiring loom that runs along the top of the cylinder head there is a female orange 3 pin connection..... I appear to have accidentally sheared off the wire that connects to it and can't find where the bit that I have sheared it from is.

There is also one on the same side at the rear of the multiram, like I said, I hope it doesn't effect the car too much, but if you know better please let me know.

I have highlighted the areas in question. The lower one near the front shows the connection that I think I have sheared off, and there is a connection at the rear that I can't find at the moment.
