As I said .. I've never done the job or seen the DVD ... I'll be in West Coker for a meeting so would only be able to drop the kit off. If you can get a kit from elsewhere and do the job sooner I would strongly advise that .. at 6000 miles overdue you are into borrowed time and the result could be horrible .. :(

Vauxhall will take your pants down then grease you up   :( not much change out off £600 for cambelt kit & water pump I'm afraid :o

If you don't use the proper locking kit you are asking for trouble mate :-?

No totally different. You could end up with bent valves etc if you don't use a locking kit, the same really as if you didn't have it done  :-?

Get the dvd from OOF shop,then either beg/steal/borrow a locking kit or contact Darth Bog Roll or Jamesv6cdx,they are both travelling mechanics who have done lots of v6 cambelts.
wouldnt go near VX personally,apart from the extortionate prices they have been known to get it wrong.
you really need to get this done ASAP,as said your engine is living on borrowed time at the moment,in fact it would be advisable not to use it if you can possibly help it.There are v6 omegas on ebay which go for peanuts quite often because the cambelt/tensioners have let go.
edit, should read darth l o o  k n e e  ::) ;D

There will be more DVDs in the shop by this afternoon, highly recommended :y

As others have said, you cannot do the GM v6 properly without the locking/timing kit, unlike most other engines out there.

right then here goes, got locking kit, got full range of torx, got torque wrench, got the kit, mine is a late engine where the bottom ecentric cam has been replaced with a plain roller. just wait for the large explosion.(anyone got a full set of good valve out there)? i also have from my friendly vx place the range of engine numbers and what kit each uses. was trained as a british steel fitter about two decades ago, so gonna have a go. if it works ill say on here, if it dont ill keep my head down forever!!! :-/
