all done! ran about for a while then gave it some beans all seems ok :) ( may explode later on) :(. the tensioner is a pig. locking kit in somerset if anyone needs to borrow it. :y
What was the trouble with the tensioner? I guess a large cranked ring spanner was required?

nope the ring is easy have loads of old whitworth spanners, fitted nicely. its the fact u cant keep the allen key in while torquing, bloody tensioner moves, need a real thin wall socket to do it. in the end got pissed off and used the old torque wrench arm, with the allen in. undid and didup a few bolts(with the torque wrench) to get the feel of how tight it should be.

Sounds like more money saved in your pocket, rather than in some scotbag dealer's hand :y

Not a bad job really, though initially daunting :y

yer your right, when you take the fornt off its...oh shat, i read about it before hand and still thought oh shat. then it wasnt bad. i checked the marks about fifteen times. aint destroyed itself yet. funny thing is after i did it wont as quick, 1500miles later its back. does the belt need to wear in? or is it me. the marks were ever so slightly out of line with the new belt. odd i know!
cheers
