Fed up with picking up silly fines for work put me on work to rule ;D

So my trip to Sheffield yesterday was driven at the speed limit.  I thought with less than half a tank when I set out I was going to have to fill up. But it made it there and back on quarter of a tank, if the gauge is to be believed.  It will need filling up before Colindale tomorrow though, as it had a special treat on the way back from work today...   ...a proper spanking.

I tend to drive quite sedately on that section of the M1 *, maybe not so much when I peel off onto the A42 on the return journey.

* Oh hang on, the reason for this is because it's yet another roadwork infested, managed (ha ha ha ha yeh right) motorway which has the speed limit set at 40 or 50 MPH for the whole bloody journey...

I'd have to say, never has a journey been so dull...

I must admit, my all too regular trips to Hull are the dullest journeys I have to do.

Yes, but its stupidly inaccurate.  Added to fact I've used it today, at a more normal pace.

I tend to get 32-36mpg depending on journey type. Measured via brim to brim method, as the FC is crap on it.

Ah. Well you would do.   8)

Mine is still going strong, albeit in my father's hands. Another 6 months of hauling dogs and building materials seems to have done it no harm. When I move a bit closer to work an lpg 3.2 would be a temptation.

Main problem is the lack of time or inclination to fight the tin worm!

I used to live in Colindale.

I have had the opposite experience today. Over the last 1000 miles mine has averaged 24.1mpg, which isn't bad for a 3.2 which doesn't often see a motorway or trunk road.
This afternoon I had to drive into the hellhole which is the centre of Colchester, and then back out again in rush hour. These few miles brought the average consumption down to 23.8 mpg.  >:(

My right foot seems to have settled down now and my fuel computer has settled around thr 45mpg mark. Not too bad for a 2.0 diesel running around locally. I will reset it before I visit mother in Liverpool and see what I get on a run.
