Do these look genuine?

The box I have here has a hologram on the box and says long life on the filter after the p/n. The ones in the link say GM after the p/n.

I'm not 100%, but I'd be guessing no based on the fact it doesn't mention the brand.

The boxes with the holograms appear to be a Vauxhall specific, so Polish parts would be Opel and may not have that on the box.

I agree, GM/Vauxhall don't make them themselves. There will be packaging variations between the actual manufacturer and factory that GM commissioned them from. And also the intended market. The product spec will be the same.

The VOF 93 was dropped in favour of a long life filter.

93156954 = VOF93 Vauxhall but now superceded
Incidentally is the replacement a bit squatter but otherwise the same dimensions than the VOF93? 10mm? Or is it the other way round?

I have to agree. If like me, you change your oil and filter every 3 or 4k, it is not an issue to be concerned about. :y

Because they don't have GM/Vauxhall, and they might hurt the engine.. Can I come and watch your paint dry, I could bring some curry, ,, ;D

I have to agree. If like me, you change your oil and filter every 3 or 4k, it is not an issue to be concerned about. :y
I do mine annually, whether it needs it or not; that's been about 9k miles for the last few years, so there was an easy 3k more in it.
If using semi-synthetic in a modern, managed engine there is no point in changing at the low mileage suggested here.

I don't know what all the fuss is abput; my old Renault 4 never had an oil filter at all!

I'm happy with the cheapest branded one I can find (had a couple of leaks from around the seal of some unbranded (probably 20p Chinese tat ;D).
I pay GM around £4 delivered for long life spin on, on those occasions I CBA to go out (which is quite frequent ;D)
I do believe in sub 5-6k oil changes, much lower in soot chuckers
