MAF removal - Rich or Lean ???

On the 2.5 petrol V6 would removal of the MAF sensor cause the engine to run more rich or more lean? still tweaking the mig to try and get the mixture right... fast running out of options  :-/

Thought every thing was basically controlled by the ECU, has something gone wrong that you suspect the MAF

think maf is ok but like you say mixture is controlled by ecu... I'm running lean & know that removing maf changes the ecu parameters for mixture, just can't remember whether it makes mixture more rich or more lean  :y
