Someone needs to build a replica of this!

It's clear why Opel chose not to produce this, given that the Manta shell was, at the time, some 12 years old (then again, the Omega shell was 10years old when they launched the Vauxhall Monaro...) and the Calibra was just around the corner, but nevertheless it's an amazingly beautiful grafting of a mid 1970s shell, with a late 1980s front end. Never seen this before, does anyone remember this appearing at Frankfurt?

I had a 1076 Opel Manta 1.9 it looked more classy than the run of the mill ford escorts that were about.

It's a minor niggle, but apart from a few odds and ends, and that they're both built by GM companies...

The Monaro and Omega have absolutely sod all in common ;)

Their dna split at the Senator B... :y

Personally I think it looks ungainly, but then it's each to their own.Instead of building a replica of that for I would imagine the same kind of money I'd be seeking out a Bitter.

Looks like a Manta body shell but no rear windows and no double slit grill but definitely Mantaish :)
