What a shame,but the right decision, the weather people are predicting that Berkshire is going to get 20cms of snow in the next few hours and the roads around here are already c**p so it was'nt  going to be easy to come down.So have a good Christmas everyone and see you in the new year.

Mrs. Ding & I fully agree with the sentiments quoted above (we were also very disappointed) we looked forward to seeing you 'good people' again, you made us feel very welcome.......pessky snow, we like it, just not so much of it, Grrrrr..........

We both look forward to rearranging it in the New Year !

Lots of snow around midday, I was stuck on Bluebell Hill (The locals amongst you will know where it is) for about 2 hours until a snow plough managed to get through the solid traffic and clear one lane up the hill.

Fortunately I'd left the Omega at home and was in the wifes Focus, there were loads of RWD BMW's dumped by the side of the road..

Oh yes!  It is where in 1970 I found out my 'new' A40 going up the hill had blown 3 valves, with loads of black smoke, had no engaging handbrake, and the clutch was slipping!!

I only stopped it rolling backwards down the hill in the pitch black by lodging its rear wheels in a hedge!!

Wouldn't have made any difference :-) .. All the lanes were blocked, quite a few cars abandoned, but me did meet some idiot driving (at some speed) down the up side in his 4x4 jap jeep thing..

Also saw a couple of RWD with the snow sock on, they do appear to work quite well..
