Prior to Newent last Mrs G insisted we spend a week in a caravan down in Cornwall, which I also hated, (although Cornwall is fantastic), because the only place I am remotely comfortable in the bloody thing is stood bolt upright with my head sticking out the open roof vent, any where else is uncomfortable. Being 6 ft plus and broad shoulders with a bad back means I can't just walk in the front door. I have to crouch and turn side on to get in, crouch the entire time I'm in the poxy thing, unless stood under said roof vent, or lieing down which given the re arangeable cushions that are in fact bench seats it's a pita as well with feet hanging out the end. Plus the embarrassment of life as a a pikey for a week means I only feel cimfortable off site.
That for a week, then off to Newent for two nights in a two man tent with barely enough floor space to fit our blow up bed in, which leaks. Getting into bed is a bouncy castle nightmare on my back and I'm always freezing cold by morning,plus it leaks if it rains.
I used to love camping as a kid, Dad n me used to go camping in Wales, Rosili bay, gower penisula, I guess I'm just getting old. Nyeeer!
Kw and TB have kindly offered more luxurious camping equipment to ease the pain but, apart from TB's dubious intentions, with best will in the world nothing can change size and weight with a bad back. I don't sleep well at home, muchless when camping. I was knackered at Newent before I even arrived. Much as I enjoyed the company at Newent, my back won't allow sleep in all but the most comfortable bed. Dtm was eyeing me up for buckaroo at one point. The pesky so n so.
