I had a 205GTi with 68,000 miles on it 15 yeats ago. Sold it for £750. I was quite pleased at the time as it owed me exactly half that.

To be fair, i'm quite pleased with it. Apart from the fact it has one too many pedals of course. Miss the Desmond though. :'(

I always wanted a 205 GTi (1.9, naturally) back in the day .. a friend of mine, who was in the same boat in the 90s, bought one more recently..

.. he didn't keep it long ;D it was the very definition of "unreliable French Engineering"! I suppose the French did earn their reputation for reliability in the 90s, so it's unsurprising that 30 years on the cars haven't magically improved..

The 205 was so pretty that you'd forgive it anything...almost.  Just as long as you didn't have to lift off in the middle of a corner!
