Hi,
As a family we have owned Omega 2.5/2.6 estates for at least ten years. The current one is virtually dead :'( and I'm thinking about a 2.2 diesel replacement. I know they are much coarser (driven one) but they seem to be cheaper to run and maintain. It will be used a load lugger for fishing tackle, university kit and garden waste in the main.
Specifically I'm concerned about determining the cam chain change intervals. I have read sections of the forum but cannot find anything related to diesels. Does the chain need replacing regularly? Or is it the tensioner and associated parts only necessary?

Welcome to & enjoy the forum.
I have a 2.2 diesel estate & it's brilliant. Have owned it a good few years now, been round Europe in it several times & it has been completely reliable.
Fuel economy is pretty damn good for such a big car.
I am under the impression the chain never needs replacing but will stand corrected if I hear otherwise.
For longevity, I would suggest regular changes of the oil & all filters ...will look after you if you it :y
