Omega General Help / Re: Exhaust advice for 2.5 V6 estate
« on: 17 July 2015, 13:47:05 »
The Premium exhausts are also excellent quality, twin walled aluminised steel. The two i've bought for both saloon and estate were an excellent fit and still look as new after 4 years & 2 years respectively  :y

As part of the induction training for one of my new Jobs, I have to have a 40 minute driving assessment in a Ford Galaxy with to many pedals............ ::) ::)

I suggested they let me use my car, but no got to be theirs, as these will be the cars I will be using for work; it is years since I drove a manual, I am not worried about it but 3 of us go out for 3 hours so not just the examiner, who I believe is a Police Officer......... :-\ :-\ There is certainly a Police email address on the info.......... :D
Mmm does it have Battenberg, either vosa or traffic wombal.
One a necessary evil the other a waste of money.

Nope, it's black with all rear windows fully tinted. Driver and front seat passenger totally sealed off from the rest of the car, save for some vents for air flow.

It was an S Max not a Galaxy, manual..... ::) ::) I thought it drove nicely, once I mastered the clutch, within a few changes; my drive was just about perfect and my commentary was very good.............. :y :y
Private ambulance / licensed undertaker ?

Children's 'Secure Transport' some is non secure, so you get a saloon car. The company also provides staff for a number of differing roles, that I could be asked to do....... :y :y

I thought the idea of your Retirement was 'less stress' Mike :-\ ;D

I won't be taking the really secure ones, ie the ones that can be hand cuffed, mostly 'Welfare' transport for me. Phil, I applied for a few part time roles, attended a few interviews, as a result I have 7 roles/jobs with 4 different companies / charities. Obviously this is not practical, so will have to let some down - not sure how it will all pan out yet, and I did want the summer off........... :) :)

Well Best Wishes for whatever you decide  :y

Why the sad face, Phil, did you know him?
[/highlight]

No Steve, neither him nor his camel! His passing is just another nail in the coffin of the film era I was brought up in and underscores the fact it'll be my turn in the not too distant future. Lifes a Bitch & then you die  ;D

So sorry for you loss Phil............... :( :(

Is Sylvia going to let you have another one........... :D :D

I actually nearly PM'd mick-1975 as I really fancied his Manual 2.2 in the For Sale Section, but made the mistake of telling Sylvia about it first! I won't tell you what she said, but I think you can guess :-[ ::)
Ermmmmmmmmm.......she said no?  :-\

Ermmmmmmmm..........no, she was rather more er vociferous than that Steve! ;D ;)

TB hates being in the south. Mind you the water doesn't help his mood I'm sure ;)

Yes, horrible hard stuff, while up here our water is nice and soft, doesn't mucky the kettle or dishwasher and is nice to drink.............. :y :y

Not here it bloody isn't! ;D

You have not got 'hard water' surly?................ :-\ :-\

MrsGK hails from the land of the dangling simian... When she came to mine in Thornaby, she was amazed by the fact you could turn the tap on, and liquid would emerge - as opposed to lumps that you could build a wall with...

Love it! Never heard it described in such innocuous terms!  ;D ;D ;D :y

Get a couple of tins of baked beans down you Mike, & tomorrow, just before every gear change let out a 'small but deadly' air change & give 'em all something else to focus their attention on!  :D
Oh, & don't forget to join in the chorus of...'Whoar, who the f............ did that!'  (wif a Sovern accent of course);D ;)

General Car Chat / Had to Break the CDX Estate
« on: 09 July 2015, 19:43:51 »
I had to accompany my CDX Estate to the Breakers yesterday as swmbo had put her foot down & wanted the Drive back.
She was sick of carrying the shopping from the road to the house in bad weather ???
We had to remove the wheels from her as they charge for every tyre left on the car.
The bastard then drove the forks through both nearside doors and shoved her across
the yard into a corner! I had to physically contain myself from punching his lights out! >:(
I, have never felt this way about any other car, but then this is the first one I've seen scrapped
in the flesh so to speak, and I have always loved Omegas  :'(
