radio codes, help needed
« on: 30 January 2016, 16:28:50 »

just tried entering radio codes after battery disconnect. ive only had the car for 2weeks & got the code from the car pass. had 3 attempts to no avail. now its in a safe mode & 7safe.. appears but not letting me enter anything. have left it & was having a look at the audio book & have found another card with a different code written on it. obviously a radio change has happened. can anyone please advise me how long it will take before I get the beep to let me continue.

Time increases efter each incorrect attempt. It should tell you in the audio manual by how much

Best leave it until tomorrow & try again with the other code IMO

Means that you will need to leave the radio and ignition switched on for up to 2 hours to reset before you enter another code number

Should have said that in my post  . . .well spotted RobG

I seem to remember that after 8 or so attempts time wait is something like 10 hours :-\

But as said audio manual should tell you

Clearly the code you have is incorrect. Pull radio out and see if anyone has written code on it, failing that its probably going to need professional services to get the code.

Dave DND runs a car audio business, might be worth a PM for costs etc.

OP says in his post that he has found a second code written in a second audio manual  . . .

It  must be worth at least one attempt  :-\

Don`t keep banging away with incorrect codes - some radios are actually irretrieveable when locked !!

Which Vauxhall radio do you have?

No

I think you now have to assume the code is wrong
