General Car Chat / 2006 Audi A3 1.9 TDI 105 Judder/Misfire?
« on: 12 June 2013, 17:16:18 »
Got a 2006 Audi A3 at the minute, VAG 1.9 TDI 105, when under load in 2nd, 3rd and 4th and you plant your foot right down you get a shudder vibration (noticeable by everyone) as the turbo kicks in, and in 5th the whole thing shakes violently as if its misfiring, if you accelerate higher up the Rev range however it's fine? This only happens if you go under full load, ease the power on and it's ok. Any ideas?

Also anyone know the oil capacity for these engines?

General Car Chat / SEAT Leon Cupra R
« on: 04 June 2013, 22:13:53 »
Picked myself up a little SEAT Leon Cupra R last week, haven't really driven it because it's had a coil pack problem, now sorted however. Now the thing has been remapped to 264 BHP (only a 1.8 turbo 225 standard), my lord is it a quick bloody thing  :o. Being front wheel drive too it torque steers like a pig, it properly tugs at the wheel, nice to drive though I like it. It's erm not very subtle though  :-[:

Decided I needed an Estate, this came up as a dealer special, customer cancellation, so a masshoosive discount  :). Latest 3.0 Diesel engine with 258 BHP, goes very, very well.

Bit of camera action goes on in here too  :o:

Just had someone message me regarding a car I've got for sale, and said, it says it could be stolen. Anyway done a check myself, now this is the confusing part, it says: No stolen record, then continues to say, may have been stolen but as it's been involved in a plate transfer further investigation is required, any ideas? Now I know it was clear when I bought it, and I've still got the check I done?

General Car Chat / Mercedes E Class gear selector issue?
« on: 12 May 2013, 10:47:21 »
Got an 09 plate E220 auto in at the moment, last night, gear selector felt a bit sloppy, any who turned into a car park to spin round put it into reverse and it carried on going forwards. So put it in park turned it off, locked and unlocked it (this seems to sort out various Mercedes problems), after which it decided it wasn't even going to turn over, then I couldn't get the selector out of park, although the car could still be pushed around (so it wasn't actually in park). My Mercedes mechanic isn't in until tomorrow, so anyone got any ideas? Eventually got the selector out of P, but made no difference still wouldn't turn over. It got towed back home fine, but is in limbo at the minute.

General Car Chat / Car insurnace problems
« on: 11 May 2013, 09:59:24 »
A friend of my one of my boys had car insurnace in his mums name, although the car was registered to him. Basically insurnace co have found out and said your policy will be cancelled if you don't send in your documents. He recently changed his car, and they asked for the documents for the car he'd just got rid of. He never sent any documents off, then they sent him the cancellation letter due to fraudulent activity on the account and said we can't continue your policy regardless. He's paid £1600 up front, and had 4 months insurnace, there's got to he some recourse surely, to get a partial refund? Anyone got any ideas because I feel for the lad?

I've got a 2002 330i at the minute, gave it a polish up today, it's mint but was looking sorry for itself as it's been sat up for a week or so. Came up a treat:

Not bad for a 2002 car, honestly don't think there's many about that are cleaner  :y :y.

Seeing as I tend to get cars occasionally with slightly poor leather seats, I decided it'd be a good idea to cost cut, and try doing the leather repairs myself. Watched various tutorials and videos on how stuff is done, got all the correct paint, sand papers, grain copier sets, everything you need basically. Got a 330i in at the minute which had a poor drivers seat, due to 120k's worth of people scuffing up the bolster basically, anyway prep it, mask it this is how they looked:

Brand new looks, happy days, could well get into a bit of this, I enjoy it a lot too :).
